MASSAGE THERAPIST

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Red Deer – Mountain View, AB
As a client of a massage therapist in Alberta, I am disappointed to hear that their professional practice has been closed due to the recent COVID-19 restrictions imposed by the government.
I am concerned that massage therapists are categorized with other personal services that are not related to health management. Massage therapy is essential to my health because it provides ongoing treatment for injuries I sustained in a motor vehicle accident in 2014. This ongoing care provides a better quality of living for myself and alleviates the need to engage other medical service providers, thus reducing the strain on the overall health care system.
My massage therapist is registered with the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC), a professional member association with standards similar to those in provinces where massage therapy is regulated. I am confident that NHPC massage therapists are skilled, professional, and essential to provincial health care.
Please allow massage therapists belonging to professional associations to be exempt from the current restrictions.
Thanks for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Jared Pilon
