I am proud to announce that I have decided to run in the next federal election as a Libertarian Party candidate. Never heard of the Libertarian Party? That’s ok, neither had I until a few months ago.
The mission of the Libertarian Party of Canada is to reduce the responsibilities and expense of government. This, so that we may each manage our lives to mutually fulfill our needs by the free and voluntary exchange of our efforts and property for the value that best realizes our happiness.
As a Chartered Professional Accountant, I am keenly aware of the negative impacts that poor government policy can have on small business owners, families and individuals. This has never been more apparent than over the course of the past year.
I am frustrated by the ineptness and inconsistency that seems to plague government, regardless of the political party in power. It seems like more time and energy is spent focused on the problems instead of finding solutions to those problems.
Like many of you, I have grown tired of establishment politics and political parties. It is time for a fresh prospective, for new ideas and a pursuit of less government intervention in our lives.
The theme of common sense, liberty and prosperity that I have been promoting over the past three months, as an independent candidate, will continue under the Libertarian Party banner.
I will continue to be a strong voice for the energy sector, for small business owners, for families and for my community.
Through a common sense focus and a passion for bringing people together on common ground, I will continue to work to help bring prosperity to the riding of Red Deer – Mountain, AB and Canada.
